About

Hi Friends! I’m Rose O’Keefe, publisher and editor. I value uniqueness and celebrate the imagination. I am a GenX punk who believes in the DIY ethic and I know that it is up to us to create the type of world we want to live in. Nothing makes me happier than connecting with people who are passionate about creativity and I have spent the past 20+ years cultivating a community of likeminded people. On this blog I will be sharing my thoughts about book publishing, entrepreneurship, the creative life, advice for writers, the history of the bizarro fiction genre and ideas about living our best creative life. So whether you are a writer, dancer, filmmaker or artist in any medium, I hope you find something useful on these pages.

BIO
Rose O’Keefe is an editor, publisher, community organizer, and event director. She is the owner of Eraserhead Press, the leading publishing house of bizarro fiction and a recipient of the Horror Writers Association (HWA) Specialty Press Award (2017).

Under O’Keefe’s direction, Eraserhead Press, founded in 1999, has published over four hundred titles through four publishing imprints and developed an international cult following for its cutting-edge weird fiction which has been praised by The Guardian, The Washington Post, Boing Boing, NPR, and Cracked.com, among others.

She frequently hosts writers’ gatherings, writing retreats on the Oregon Coast, writing workshops, reading events, and the annual convention/art event, BizarroCon. In addition to publishing, she loves homebrewing, ecstatic dance,  Argentine tango, cult films, punk DIY culture and creative weirdos of all types. She lives in Portland, OR.
